The 2028 European Championship qualifiers

The road to the European Championship begins as early as spring 2027. Europe’s national teams will compete in qualifying groups for places in the finals, in which 24 nations will take part. The qualifiers consist of twelve groups of four or five teams. The group winners and the eight best runners-up will qualify directly for the European Championship, whilst further places will be decided through a system of play-off matches and reserved places for the host nations.
